To put it simply, the ‘Moneyline’ is who you think will win. It is a wager strictly on the win/loss outcome of a game or match. The bettor has the option to wager on the favorite to win OR the underdog to win. A winning wager on the favorite will yield smaller returns, while a winning wager on the underdog will yield larger returns.
Example: The ‘Moneyline’ for the Eagles in a given football game is -200 (they are the favorite). The ‘Money Line’ for the Bengals is +175, they are the underdog. If the bettor places a $20 wager on the ‘Moneyline’ for the Eagles, and the Eagles win, the player would win their bet and the total payout would be $30 (Wager $20, win $10). If the bettor places a $20 wager on the ‘Moneyline’ for the Bengals, and they win, the player would win their bet and the total payout would be $55 (Wager $20, win $35).
