Often referred to as a Totals bet, the Over/Under is a wager on the combined score of both teams in a sporting event. The bettor will need to choose if the sum of the total points earned by both teams will be Over (greater than the total) or Under (less than the total) the total score.
Example: The Total for a given baseball game is set at 8.5. The Phillies beat the Marlins in a 9 inning game by a final score of 5-4. When combined, this score gives us a total score of 9. If the bettor placed a wager on the Over (over 8.5) they would win their bet. If the better placed a wager on the under (under 8.5), they would lose their bet.
